Senior Class Mist cry In the fall of 1964, the class of 1968 entered the halls of V. I. T. ready and unaware of what was lying ahead. As freshman, our first job was to elect class officers. We chose Tom Gamm as President, Mike Ulmer - Vice-President, Gael Baker - Secretary, Jerry Beaird - Treasurer. Student Council members were Cindy Connour and John Derry. Mrs. Barkley had the job of our class sponsor. Next came initiation, which officially made us a part of the school. That year our class was represented by Michelle Howell and Mike Ulmer at the Homecoming Dance. So, with the worst behind, we eagerly entered our Sophomore year. As Sophomores, we came ready to take on a year that should not be quite as confusing. This year’s class officers were: President - Steve Weaver, Vice-President - Diana Wickert, Secretary - Jane Hughes, Treasurer - Mark Horwedel. Ruth Ann Ellison and Tom Gamm represented our class on Student Council. This year we were lucky enough to have two sponsers; Mrs. Brumett and Miss Brown. Betty Jo Fawcett and Joe Heaton were elected to be our Attendants at the Homecoming Dance. With another year behind us we were ready to take the title of upperclassmen. As Juniors we had begun to make a name of ourselves. To lead us on our task were: President - Mark Horwedel, Vice-President - Gael Baker, Secretary - Betty Jo Fawcett, Treasurer - Tom Gamm. Student Council members were: Barbara Brumett, Jackie Speer, Jerry Beaird and Mark Horwedel. Mardeen Neilsen and Gael Baker were our class' Homecoming Attendants. This year, with the Play and Prom we needed six sponsers, who were: Mr. Schoenwetter, Mrs. Barkley, Mrs. Brumett, Mrs. Herriford, Mrs. Knowles and Mr. Hunter. Our Junior class play Hope Springs Eternal was a great boost to the theatrical world (and the class). Finally, our big project, the Prom. Our theme was Rendezvous ei Paris . It was a big success. Our Senior year was the year of a challenge, in which we overcame various obstacles to graduate. This year our leaders were: President - Eddie Bubb, Vice-President - Jerry Beaird, Secretary - Jane Hughes, Treasurer - Diana Wickert. Student Council members were: Jackie Speer, Pat Switzer, Steve Weaver and Mark Horwedel, who served as President. DAR winner was Diana Wickert and SAR was Jerry Beaird. Also, this year our class claimed three cheerleading spots; Jackie Speer, Diana Wickert, and Betty Jo Fawcett. This year at Homecoming our class provided King and Queen; they were: Joe Heaton and Diana Wickert. Our class play this year was Get Smart, in which the actors had a lot of fun! As we leave V. I.T. we are confident of our education and are eagerly waiting for the future. We will always remember our school and our class with its many, many memories.
