611155 ffisfvry As timid little freshmen, we numbered fifty-seven. We wondered if there would be that many of us after initiation was over, but we got through the dilemma, and we loved every minute. Our leaders for the year were: President-Melissa Current, Vice-president-Rick Beairdg Secretary-Diana Rutledge, Trea- surer-Connie Harris, Student Council-Terry Danner and Larry Wherleyg and our class sponsor was Mr. Ezell. Diane Rutledge and Rick Beaird were our representatives in the Homecoming Dance court. Lead- ing the boys on to victory ,was Connie Harris as the only cheerleader from our class that year. This then concludes our green year at V. I. T. Entering as sophomores, we were a little more confident than we were as freshmen. Our officers for the year were: President-Terry Arnett, Vice-president-Terry Dannerg Secretary-Dan Hickman, Trea- surer-Sharon Gloreg Reporter-Melissa Currentg Student Council-Lucy Cook and Rick Beairdg and our class sponsors were Mrs. Brummett and Mr, Ezell. As our cheerleaders, we elected Sharon Vaughn, Connie Harris, Diana Rutledge, and Lucy Cook. Representing our class as Homecoming attendants were Sharon Vaughn and Terry Arnett. As our second year of high school drew to a close, we were beginning to look forward to our junior year as upperclassmen. Being an upperclassman was great! We had so much to look forward to that year. Our officers were: President-Sam McMullen, Vice-president-Rick Beairdg Secretary-Sharon Vaughn: Treasurer-Connie Har- ris, Reporter-Melissa Current, Student Council-Diana Rutledge and Terry Arnett, and our sponsors for the year were: Mrs. Hughes, Mrs. Knowles, Mrs. Holzgraefe, and Mr. Hunter. Encouraging our fans at sport activities were Connie Harris, Lucy Cook, and Sharon Vaughn. At the Homecoming Dance, our class was represented by Sharon Vaughn and Rich Beaird. We ended the year with a very successful Tender is the Night prom. Our Junior Class Play, Bolts and Nuts , was a big success and was enjoyed by all who attended. We all agreed that the year had been a good one. As we began our final year at V. I.T. , we elected as our officers: President-Connie Harris, Vice- president-Terry Arnett, Secretary-Charles Wickwireg Treasurer-Sam McMullen, and Student Council- Nancy Hughesg Diana Rutledge, Wayne Demott, and Rick Beaird. All of the Varsity cheerleaders were from our class. They were: Sharon Vaughn, Connie Harris, Diana Rutledge, Carolyn DeMott, and Lucy Cook. The climax of the Homecoming Dance was the crowning of our queen, Connie Harris, and our king, Rick Beaird. Our class play, Get Witch Quick was a huge success and the cast loved putting it on. As we leave V. I. T. for the last time as students, we think eagerly ahead to the future, but we will never forget our wonderful years at V. I. T.
