Now, on to the show 21 FROM THE SENIORS’ 22 • Sharon SCRAPBOOKS E ene « i'V ayne Sheila Beth CLASS HISTORY Near the first of September in 1958, we entered the new Jr .-Sr. High School. Our class was the usual--scared of the unknown which was to come. We elected our class officers at our first class meeting. They were: Gary Groff as President; Rita Fawcett as Vice-President; Ralph Malott as Secretary-Treasurer; Beth Green as Reporter; and John Briton and Glenda Grafton as Student Council Representatives . We chose White and Blue as our colors, the white rose as our flower and Forward ever, Backward never as our motto. For our sponsors we had Mrs. Peak, Mr. Hunter, and Miss Cox. There were several dances where we were represented such as the Homecoming Dance at which Beth Kessler and George Bottenberg were attendants and the Sweetheart dance with Beth Green, Kenton Hawkins, Damaris Richmond, and Ralph Malott as attendants. Our Sophomore year we started out with forty-nine members and George Bottenberg was elected as our President; Beth Green as Vice-President; Rita Fawcett as Secretary; Norman Hawkins as Treasurer; Wayne Myers as Reporter; Elene Crossman as Parliamentarian; and Joyce Reneau and Kenton Hawkins as Student Council Representatives. Our sponsors were Mr. Hunter, Mrs. Peak, and Miss Cox. Then the dances such as the Sweetheart dance where Damaris Richmond was Queen and George Bottenberg and Beth Green were attendants. Our Junior year started out about the same as our Sophomore year, except we had lost five students, so our enrollment was only forty-four, and Miss Cox and Mrs. Peak had left us and we had gained Mrs. Dodd, Mrs. Kost, and Mrs. Johnson for our sponsors . We were able to keep Mr . Hunter. For our class officers we chose George Bottenberg as President; Beth Green as Vice-President; Damaris Richmond as Secretary; Joyce Reneau as Treasurer; Linda Blans-field as Reporter; and Sherry Reneau and Dennis Wagahoff as Student Council Represent tives. Our Junior year started out quietly but things began to happen. First there was our play, Deadly Ernest to be cast, directed, and promoted. It went over fairly well. Near the last of Basketball season the teachers put on a Pep Rally to end all pep rallies. There was Mrs. Dodd, Mrs. Vanko, and Mrs. Johnson as cheerleaders. They were great but could not keep together. Miss Eddington gave her interpretation of Mr. Williams and Mrs. Hughes gave her interpretation of Mr. Connour. Mrs. Kost played a spirited tune on the piano, also. More bells than usual started going off after Basketball season and they weren't wedding bells but false fire alarms which the students set off which caused some trouble For our prom we had Oriental Evening” as our theme and Billy Williams' Band for our dance band. Our Senior year started off in a whirl and has stayed at the same pace. We elected George Bottenberg as our President; Gary Groff as Vice-President; Beth Green as Secretary; Damaris Richmond as Treasurer; Vicky Vaughn as Reporter; and Elene Crossman and John Briton for Student Council. Our Senior sponsors were Mr. Hunter, Mrs. Dodd, and Mrs. Johnson. For homecoming, we were represented by Damaris Richmond who was Homecoming Queen and George Bottenberg as King, with Bill Robinson and Beth Green as attendants . At the Sweetheart dance Joyce Reneau was Queen with Jane Jackson, Beth Green, Elene Crossman, Rita Fawcett, Vicky Vaughn, Norman Hawkins, Mike Chenoweth, Loren Hickenbottom, and Gary Groff among the attendants . For our play we tried something a little different. We gave three one-act plays which were: One of Us, a mystery, The Boor, and The Man in the Bowler Hat, comedies. The Juniors gave us a banquet and prom entitled, An Evening in Paris which was very nice. They had Billy Williams for their band, also. Vicky Vaughn was Queen and Norman Hawkins the King of the prom. Now we are leaving these halls of ivy with mingled sorrow and happiness. CLASS WILL I, David Agans, will my Green Oldsmobile to Bill Ulmer who needs a good car.
