The V.I.T. chapter of Future Homemakers of America began this year's activities with a chili supper the evening before the Homecoming, October 10, followed by a cookie sale in November. In December a swimming party and Christmas party were held. The chapter Mother's were Neva Peak, Ruth Burton and Janette Geyer. In January the freshmen and new members were initiated on Family Night. Plans got under way for the Valentines Dance which was held February 16. The Valentine's Dance was a big success. The Sweetheart Queen for the dance was Martha Barker, whose six reigning attendants were Sharon Keefauver, Shirley Malott, Luann Burgard, Eloise Williams, Janice Wilson, and Lynne Dunn. A slumber party was held in the Gymnasium of the High School in March; all had a good time. F.H.A. week was held the first week in April, with a tea and style show for the mothers. For every P.T.A. meeting the girls sponsored a play school for the little children during the meeting. The chapter closed a successful year's activities with a picnic in May.
