UNDERCLASS HISTORY Class of'57 We started the Junior year in the fall of ’55 by electing the following class officers: Judy Craft, President; Vice-President, Stan Wilson; Secretary, Bev Burton; Treasurer, Harold Palm; and Student Council representatives, Sharon Keefauver and Richard Atwater. Class sponsors are Mrs. Bailey, Mr. Montgomery, and Mr. Schouten. The Homecoming float, Yellow Rose of Texas,” won second place; King and Queen attendants were Shirley Malott and Harold Palm. The Junior Class Play, No More Homework,” was presented November 18. Mrs. Bailey was our director. The Prom was held on May 9; it depicted the theme Showboat.” The banquet was held at Hilda’s Pantry in Lewistown. Music was furnished by Spud Griffith and his Royal Aires. The Junior (Mass money making activities consisted of: play, picking up corn, concession at Ipava Homecoming, Waffle Supper, and the concession stands at all home basketball games. We had our share of letter winners in athletics during the year. Judy Craft and Marabel Parks were elected cheerleaders. Six chorus members, five band members, three speech contestants and two music contestants came from the class of ’57. Class of ’58 The Sophomore Class of 1955-56 elected the following officers: Jim Thompkins, President; Bill Shaw, Vice-President; Jerry Curless, Secretary; Rachel Howell, Treasurer. Student Council Representatives are Faye Byers and Larry Brock. Class sponsors are Miss Cox and Mr. Young. Carol Bohm and Bob bright were elected by the Sophomore Class for the King and Queen Attendants. The theme of our float was Rose Bowl Class The Freshman Class in 1955-56 elected the following as officers: Cathy Marshall, President; John Weese, Vice-President; Jane Ann Young, Secretary; and Bea Schisler, Treasurer. Student Council Representatives are Janet Nehmelman and Jim Herriford. Our Class Sponsors are Mr. Stevens and Mr. Connour. Bea Schisler and Jim Herriford were elected by the class for King and Queen Attendants. The theme of our float was The Medic.” Sponsoring a skating party and selling Christmas cards have been our money making projects for Game,” which won first place. Our money making projects for this year was having a Food Sale in all three towns of the V.I.T. District. Out of our class we had nine band members, fifteen chorus members, two speech contestants, four music contestants, and nineteen boys out for sports. Luann Burgard was elected by the Student Body as one of the Junior Varsity cheerleaders. of '59 this year. Our class started out with thirty-seven members in the fall of ’55. Later in the year Phil Smith left our class and we gained Jerry Adcock. Gerald Bodkins joined us for awhile. Our class was well represented in Band and Chorus and several boys participated in sports. Also we were represented by Cathy Marshall and Judy Bfltiton in the speech contest where they did exceptionally well considering it was the first time for both of them. Two of our Junior Varsity Cheerleaders are Freshmen.
