X 9 ' a Superintendent M.B. Morris lists Boy Scout Training as his hobby and gives much of his time to such work. He serves as the Chairman of the Leadership Training Committee ofthe Concho Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America. His committee has developed a very intensive leadership training program for the Cubmasters, Scoutmasters, and Explorer Advisors in the twenty-five counties of this Council. Qlt is the objective of this com- mittee to provide well trained leaders for the boys of this area. This service should mean much to the youth of this part of Texas,j Mr, Morris has taken an active interest in all types of work for youth for many years. He started his work in Scouting as a Senior Patrol Leader in the first troop that was organized at Hemphill, Texas, in 1921, and has been connected with some phase of Scouting since that date. While he was located in the Trinity-Nueces Coun- cil of Southeast Texas, he served as Scoutmaster, Cubmaster, District Chairman, District Commissioner and as Council Chairman of the Advancement Committee and Leadership Training Committee. He is the author of a Manual on Advancement. Mr. Morris received the Scoutmaster's Key in 1943 and was awarded the Silver Beaver in February of 1944, The latter is the highest award in the Council that is granted to a volunteer worker for dis- tinguished service to youth. The Scouts at Camp Fawcett, during the summer of 1944, elected Mr. Morris a member of the Order of the Arrow, an organization of outstanding campers, We yi 6
