,f l Q 1 I . 4-xxx 4.4-r M. B. MORRIS Superintendent Mr, Morris came to Uvalde as high school principal in 1945, after having served as superintendent in Pineland, Texas, for eighteen years. In T947 he became our superintendent. He holds a B.A. Degree from the University of Texas and a Masters Degree in education from Colorado State Teachers College. He is very active in both community and professional work, serving as teacher of the Men's Bible Class ot the First Baptist Church, where he is an active deacon, and as a leader in the Boy Scout program. He organized the South- west Texas Schoolmen's Association, and was its president for the first two years. In 1952 he was president of the Uvalde Lions Club, and received the Chamber of Commerce Busy Bee Award. ln T953 he was made a member of the executive council of the Texas State Teachers Association. 8 ,

When he returned in 1945, he was made assistant principal, and he became our principal in 1947. He received his B.A. and M.A. Degrees from Sul Ross State College in Alpine. He teaches the Young People's Class of the First Methodist Ch h d ' urc an is a member of the Board of Stewards. A past president of the Southwest Texas Schoolrner1's Association, he is currently presi- dent of the Uvalde Kiwanis Club. sf
