B. MORRIS Superintendent Mr, Morris came to Uvalde as high school principal in 1945, after having served as superintendent in Pineland, Texas, for eighteen years. In T947 he became our superintendent. He holds a B.A. Degree from the University of Texas and a Masters Degree in education from Colorado State Teachers College. He is very active in both community and professional work, serving as teacher of the Men's Bible Class ot the First Baptist Church, where he is an active deacon, and as a leader in the Boy Scout program. He organized the South- west Texas Schoolmen's Association, and was its president for the first two years. In 1952 he was president of the Uvalde Lions Club, and received the Chamber of Commerce Busy Bee Award. ln T953 he was made a member of the executive council of the Texas State Teachers Association. 8 , ........,...,, nf .a- wi r-'! ' CLEM C. JONES Principal Mr. Jones came to Uvalde as a science teacher in 1942. In 1943 he entered the service. When he returned in 1945, he was made assistant principal, and he became our principal in 1947. He received his B.A. and M.A. Degrees from Sul Ross State College in Alpine. He teaches the Young People's Class of the First Methodist Ch h d ' urc an is a member of the Board of Stewards. Bert set up one of August's three touchdowns on a 69 yard run. In the seventh stranght victory the Coyotes scored their fourth highest tally, a 33-13 victory. NOVEMBER 13 The Coyotes won their second district game as linemen Tootie Kirchner, Norman Stutte, Charles Foshee, and Jesus Ozuna played terrific offensive ball to set Bobby, Jack, Bert, and August scoring 40 points. Sam Nave, Dick Traylor, and Sid Gibbens helped hold the Eagles to only seven points on the defense. The game ended 40-7. Anyhow it was the eighth loss in 41 games for the Coyotes in four years and the fourth loss in 20 games at Uvalde 'for Coach Daniels.
