Richard White The setting was the evening before Christmas somewhere in the southern United States. 1 4: H It in iii l. fwfr Mary's mother was given a white wedding dress, got pregnant and died in child birth. Granny kept the dress for Mary. Mary fell in love with Henry Morgan's son who wanted to marry Mary and had given her a white wedding dress. Henry Morgan protested and threatened to evict Mary and her grandmother if she did not marry Jim instead of his son. For that reason, Mary agreed only to find out that Henry's real reason was because he too fell in love and impregnated a Black girl some 18 years earlier. She was Mary's mother. ll

The Utica Campus choir under the direction of Dr. Bobby Cooper, presented its annual winter concert. The choir drew rave reviews. They performed an array of Christmas carols, spirituals, classicals and gospels. Choir members are Cleft to rightj Camelia McNeal, Patricia Rudd, Giovonna Alexander, Debra Mays, Sharlette Lott, Tyrone Crawford, Bobby Grant, Eddie Epps, Luanna Williams, Trinia Jennings, Laverne Washington, Deborah McCornell, Tanya English and Arlene Erves. Q Graduation is a time that makes most family mem- bers, friends, and graduates feel as if something has been accomplished. Graduation is one giant step on the road to total independence and success. With most things there is the good and the bad. Leaving friends that you have acquired over the years, and the repore that you have established with the faculty and administrators, to name a few. These are the memo- ries that linger tenderly in your heart. One of the most popular songs was FUTURE GENERATION, because the class of 1987 will be a part of our future. After graduation you come to a road which will de- termine many things in the years ahead, your career, job placement, your place in society, and your earn- ing power. For those who are graduating from high school, you have a choice to further your education, join the service or find a job. Congratulations to all. You've come a long way. N
