THANKSGIVING PROGRAM This was the annual Thanksgiving Dinner for employees of the Utica Campus and Hinds Agricultural High School. The theme Dr. Eugene Gaston was master of ceremonies for the Thanksgiving Dinner. was On Being Grateful. Rev. Johnny Barbour, Jr., pastor of the Pearl Street A.M.E. Church, in Jackson, was the guest speaker for this annual event. The Utica Campus Choir presented Praise Him, with Giovonna Alexander, Ccenterj as the leader. Giovonna is pictured with two other memebers of the choir, Debra Mays and Bobby Grant.

OPERA SOUTH OperafSouth was formed in 1971 by Jackson State University, Tougaloo, and Utica Junior College to offer students the opportunity of appearing in professional productions and to provide a showcase for young professional singers just starting their careers. Utica's participation in the highly promised Operafliouth chorus has extended to all the company productions, with the exception of the two one-act presentations that opened the 1972 fall season. The music students have not missed a single performance from participating in the chorus since the present choir director, Dr. Bobby G. Cooper, took over the post. Additionally, numerous minor roles at various times have been sung by the Utica students. This year s opera featured several Utica Campus Students. Mrs. Jane Stanton Qrightj, health educator, State Department of Health, was guest speaker. Mrs. Stanton gave a helpful slide presentation to increase the awareness of the deadly disease AIDS.
