TICA panama COLLEGE '-Tv' UTICA MISSISSIPPI 39175 omce our-as Paesmlwv February 27, 1970 Dear Students and Friends: Time: The Element of Change, the theme selected by the yearbook staff is a most appropriate one and is substantiated by the events of this scholastic year. , One of the primary changes this year was the appointment of a chief administrative officialg and, as a result, this brought new philo- sophical and educational directions for Utica Junior College. Another major change was in the physical plant area with the erecting of a Library Building which enhanced the educational opportunities of the students. This facility was a land-mark in our physical plant develop- ment for it provided our institution with the last major obstacle that had prevented accreditation by the regional accrediting association. Still another major change occurred within our student activities pro- gram where we, for the first time, engaged a member of the Mississippi Junior College Association in a regularly scheduled inter-collegiate contest. The winds of change blew considerably. The most significant change that time can wrought may not be revealed to us until some future date, this is the academic and occupa- tional change in our students that will allow them to become successful citizens of this society. Congratulations are in order to the members of the yearbook staff and its advisors for the most accurate and vivid manner in which they visually chronicled the events of this scholastic year.
