stiffer , ,.,5,5sw,,N- V P .-.fxw S Distinction is born from an educated heart . . . from a mind that has developed a love of all humanity . . . from a well-balanced philosophy for living . . . and from a soul that loves broadly and intelligently. The man to whom we dedicate these pages bears this distinction modestly and humanly. Since September, 1951, when he came here as Principal of the high school he has worked un- ceasingly for the development of Utica. His hard work has not been in vain for he was elected Utica Junior Co1lege's first dean. The work for our great school did not end here, for after two years of service at Summer Hill High School, Clinton, Mississippi, he was called again to add dignity and give additional service to Utica Junior College as President. Q Since becoming our illustrious President two years ago, he has become to us a counselor, who may be depended upon for apt and frank advice . . . a thought-provoking and eloquent speaker . . . a friend. As President, he has done an admirable job in promoting public relations and has be- come well known and well thought of, not only in Mississippi but throughout the entire nation. With pride in the man, in his intimate knowledge of Utica Junior College and human nature, in his steadfast regard for high and lofty standards, and his matchless allegiance to Utica Junior College and all its ideals . . . we appreciatively dedicate the T959 UTICANITE TO PRESIDENT WALTER WASH- INGTON. 16
