No one knows better than I how strongly I hoped that I would not be called away from you. I have learned to live with you, to work with you, and to love you. Nothing that I know of will ever change the deep love and respect that I have for The Utica Institute family. I sincerely hope that every one of you will continue to do all in your power to make The Utica Institute the kind of institution that we had hoped and prayed for it to be. As I assume my duties in the position to which I was recently appointed, I carry with me the deep feeling that each of you is with me and that I can always be sustained by that knowledge.
