s-var rf if .,,,. I yd-55 pl'0PA2Cy Edna, take a letter! Dear Emma, , My secretary, Edna Gleckler, who is a former classmate of mine, is writing this more or less as a record for history. On my candy route today I met a lot of old friends who were with me in my senior year, I've been thinking about taking one of those tours to Florida that James Pierpont Tourist Guide Agency is offering. By the way, Jim has help from his wife, the former Betty Guisinger. Their trip includes stops at Dixie Cornelius' restaurant, Lee's g Fred Dison's nite club which is rightly named Freddie's where the featured vocal group is the Beauty Shoppe Quartet including Barbara Compton, Sherrie Marston, Nancy Wince, and Phyllis Salyersg a tour of Ann Mack's cat farm which covers about 25 acresg and the stock car races which are always exciting. Mildred Farley, another classmate, will be the featured driver. Other recommendations were the wrest- ling show featurintg Charles Gatteng a stop at the horse ranch of Joann Doup where you can ride or just look aroun g the sewing center owned and operated by Louise Houck where you can learn to sew or order tailor-made clothes. They told me to be sure to use the flat-proof tires in- vented by Don Boyer and to watch out for the cops since Harold Nesbit has joined the force. Now Emma, why can't you learn to be driven? Maybe if I take you down to Sylvia Burger she can help since she now has a Drivers' Training Course. We get very good gas at Allen Cobum's filling station. If you want to get in on a good political argument just stop there for Allen and Ivan Handwerk are always'at it. I drove into Bob Gregg's Drive-In the other day for lunch and he brought me up to date on some of the happenings. Laura Myers now has a shop for dyeincg peop1e's hair red and when she finishes, Jean Boyer creates some nice bangs for them. He sai Erma Hickinbotham now runs a taxi service for basketball players between Purity and St. Louisville: Dick Holton runs a pool hall in Purity. Before I leave on my trip I'll have a doctor's check-up and there's nothing to be afraid of because an old friend of' mine is working there as a nurse, Donna Jones. If I need any medicine I'll just stop at Walker's Drugs fformerly Rimer's, Don just couldn't stay awayj. Three sign-boards done by Julia Smith had entirely different advertisements on them. One said to vote for Marilyn Walters for Senator from Alaska--and remember how shy we used to think she was? I hear she has been there for a ood many yearsg the second sign was something about shoes from Carol Smith's store, guess she grad so many she decided to sell them and make iome. money for some new ones, and the third advertised a roller skating revue featuring Darlene annmg, Had a nice little chat the other day with Emma Jean Swick who runs the local postoffice. She told me that Roxie Ridenour was the local librarian and that if I had time, I should stop to see Lloyd Wilkin, who is a minister. And while l'm on that trip I want to be sure to stop at the Novelty Shop, owned by Norma Warner and Virginia Nethers, to get some gifts. Thinking of the trip l'd better stop and get the rest of my work completed or I'll never be able to go. Your friend, Albert Holtsberry P.S. In case some of you are confused, Emma is my faithful friend and companion, my car. We sell salt water taffy which I found a very profitable business in my senior year,
