THE BUILDER A Preview ---- - - Class Prophecy This beautiful morning in May of 1960, we look into the wide blue yonder and what do we see? It's a bird! NO-it's a plane! Yes, a very exquisitely designed rocket ship which we are informed belongs to the Magellan of the air, john W. Holmes, Jr. We are overwhelmed with awe as we see this sleek, shining piece of mechanical merchandise glide to a stop in the Utica Rocket Loading Pavilion. By a closer examination we find that this ship was designed by Duane Arck, America's foremost modern rocket designer. Inside this spacious ship we see a placard stating that the windows and glass accessories were supplied and installed by the world's most clever glass cutter, Jules A. Bernard. As a demonstration flight, Mr. Holmes offers to take us along with his load of passengers, around the world and through the universe to try to induce us to buy this type of rocket ship from the company he represents. This company is famously known as Spray 8: Son with G. Spray as president and his son as executive administrator. When we accept this invitation, we are informed that there are six passengers. The most distinguished is Edward Young, a renowned bull fighter. Ed is on his way to test his skill against the super-ferocious bulls of Mexico. As we enter the ship we meet Dr. Wanda Conard, Ph. D., and the members of her staff. Wanda is taking her staff to the moon to establish an experimental station to study plants, animals, and their environments. This staff consists of May Louise Hays, a botanistg Eileen Rice, a psychologist, Ruth Frye, a psychiatrist, and the greatest of all lady veterinarians, Betty Howell. These fine ladies will have their names in the annals of science and history and will be remembered forever as the pioneer philan- thropists of the moon. After we are all seated, down the aisle bustles the ever-efficient, always-helpful stewardess, Barbara Miller, who instructs us as to how we must sit during the take-oil. fConlinued on page 581 Bequests -------- Class Will We, the Seniors of 1946, being of sound mind and body, realizing that we are about to fade from the scene of events in this sanitarium for the treatment of igno- rance, do hereby make and declare this to be our last will and testament: To Mr. Ball we proudly give this Boy Scout uniform which will help him display his executive ability. To Mr. Yarman we dedicate the BUILDER. We leave to Mrs. Tulloss a new pair of roller skates. This will enable you to glide gracefully into your classes. To Mr. McGuifey we leave this saying: Grass never grows on a busy street. To Mrs. Kauber we will a stack of Superman Comic Books to read to her seventh grade in home-room period. We hope this isn't to drastic a change from Pollyanna.', To Mr. Law goes the 1946 Academy Award for his direction of A Voice in the Dark. fConlimzed 071 page 62j Page Fifteen
