We take this opportunity to compliment all the contestants for their splendid papers on a timely subject. SPORTS The Blue Devils of Homer High finished a fair basketball season with six victories and eight de- feats. The season was considered successful because eight of the first ten men are underclassmen. This means Homer will put a bal- anced, speedy, veteran team on the floor next year. out for the Blue Devils So watch in '41. The baseball season is well under way and although only one game has been played to date, be- cause of bad weather, the Blue Devils should be a tough team to beat. Mr. Robert King is again D1- rector of Athletics at Homer. ATHLETIC BANQUET-DANCE The annual athletic banquet and dance of Homer High School was held in the gym March 15, and was the largest and finest ever given by our school. The speaker was Mr. Black, County Superintendent. Mr. King awarded letters for three major sports. After several cheers led by our cheerleaders, the gym was cleared for the dancing, both round and square. Our banquet this year was a great success, attended by a ca- pacity crowd. We hope to keep the interest of the community in our school affairs and make this athletic banquet and dance an annual affair.
