The USU Women's athletic program gained national recognition this year. After defeating Brigham Young University in the regional championship playoffs, the team later finished tenth in the nation. Also, a newly established gymnastics team surprised many sports enthusiasts when they captured the eighteenth spot in the national rankings their first year. 9

EXECUTIVE COUNCIL The Executive Council consists of a president, eight vice presidents and a secretary treasurer. These ten students are elected by the student body and are responsible for directing the expenditure of a $550,000 budget. ASUSU funds more than 70 activities and programs.
