SCHOOL OF COMMERCE Spender of his golf time gardening Dean Doctor William Lawrence Wanlass guides the destinies of those students who have cast their lot in Commerce. Established in 1891 as the second oldest School of Commerce in the nation it has grown until now it offers complete courses in Accounting, Political Science. Economics. Business Administration and Sociology. Dr. Wanlass studied ot Johns Hopkins and George Washington Univer sities and taught at Union College, Schenectady. New York before coming to Utah State in 1921. SCHOOL OF AGRICULTURE Completing his first year as Dean of the School of Agriculture, Dr. Rudger H. Walker insists that as yet he knows little about his department—his efforts belie the statement. A quiet, scholarly gentleman he conducts with efficiency and capability the School of Agriculture, recently combined with the Experiment Station. Schooled at Brigham Young University and Iowa State, with emphasis on Chemistry and Bacteriology, he is eminently qualified to further advance the agricultural functions of the Collogo.

Dean Goorgo D. Clyde sets the beacon light for Utah State’s engineers of tomorrow. After receiving his B. S. from the College he furthered his studies at the Univorsity of California, specializing In Hydrolytics and Irrigation Engineering. Through his iron will to live Deor, Clyde survived a critical illness which left him physically weak for many months. Besides directing the activities of the Engineering School which includes the Mechanic Arts department, ho is chairman of the building and grounds committee: predicts, through accurate measure ments of the snow covorage of the surrounding moun tains, the irrigation water that will be available locally: and offers valuable suggestions to intermountain engi-neers. EXTENSION SERVICE Since he came here in 1899. William Peterson has been connected with the college in several capacities: as Professor of Geology, as Director of the Experiment Station, and. at present, as Director of the Extension Service. Still interested in geology, he also likes hunting, fishing and horseback riding. Mr. Peterson directs the activities of twenty-seven Utah county agents- and su- pervises the annual 4-H Club. Adult Leadership Dairy, and Irrigation schools which are held at the College. To successfully dispatch these varied duties requires exceptional ability, experience, intelligence and sympathy— all known qualities of Director Peterson. 30
