I I The days of the real frontier, of physi- cal hardship and danger, have gone forever from our state. As we survey it, no longer do we see slow, dusty wagons moving into the unconquered distance. But we do see the challenge of a new order, stern forces threatening to overthrow this era of bourgeois democracy, social and industrial chdnges of far-reaching consequence. We realize that to us, as a new generation, 0 falls the duty of making intelligent decisions, helping to direct our state's course to state capitalism, socialism, fascism. It is indeed a challenge, and, reaching out our fiBnds' to receive it, we thrill to its power, to its

Our state ... a desirable place to live. There is a delightful summer sky, brilliant autumn, snow and winter to challenge life, and, a reward for indifferent days . . . springtime. Strong sentiments are attached to these mountain peaks which rise in the distance to encircle pleasant valleys, rich mines, sheep grazed deserts, friends and home, where the old West still meets the new at some distant crossing. And although Utah is endowed with rich natural resources and diversity of industry, it is her ideal that we would emulate; truth, justice under law, security through industry, service that is moral and unselfish established by the strong-faithed founders of our commonwealth. To the state of Utah, our state, we dedicate this 1937 Buzzer.
