jfte aaa 0 I9 2 SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS Left to right: jo Ann Jackanich, Jo Ann Haggerty, Dick McLaughlin and Bill Smith. T LAST we are on the final rung of our school ladder. Throughout this year we took part in some familiar activities for the last time together. Our athletes, band members, majorettes and cheerleaders enjoyed their last Varsity Hop. Our scholars received their last recognition here on the honor roll. We seniors attended our last Benediction as a class. Four years have slippedthrough our fingers. Fourywonderful, unforgettable years. Reluctantly we leave our teachers and our classmates, but most reluctantly of all, we leave our Alma Mater. Memories . . . take us back to the fall of '48 when we confused freshies trudged across the campus with heads not-too-high but with hearts full of expectation. The thrill of the magic words . . . prom . . . varsity . . . seniors . . . were distant then, but very close now. We went over the top in the Exponent campaign that year, bringing in a total of 399900. Quite a sum for little us! A As sophomores and upperclassmen, we were now. more self-assured and considered ourselves well on the way to supreme sophistication. We finally had our feet on the ground and new freshmen were our humble underlings. Again we were on top in the annual magazine campaign, which goes to show that a good class can't be kept down. This is coming from modest us! As juniors, our class officers, headed by president jack McPhillips, displayed fine organizing ability as they led us in making the junior-senior prom a huge success. In the sport spotlight were football first stringers Jim Ramm and Ed Ochman, and john Steadman and Dan O'Horo who lassoed first string in basketball. The proof of successful us! OLU fo alle.. ' -v .. . . . eniorri HE TIME has come to speak of Commencement . . . June, 1952. The year has rolled past too quickly and we are already busy with the rush and bustle of the end of the school term. It's so hard to leave our Alma Mater. Four years we have worked and struggled and looked forward to graduation day. And now that graduation is so near we wish there were just a little more time. But there are still a few more memories to be gathered be- fore we say our goodbyes. May marks the date for the junior- .Senior Prom which is always the height of the social whirl for us. Those juniors have great ideas up their third-year sleeves, so it should prove a memorable event. ' It's June . . . Baccalaureate . . . the blessing of Holy Mother Church on our departure. And then Commencement itself . . . not the end, but the beginning. The time has come to live well by keeping in mind all we have learned and applying it to our lives. Alma Mater will ever hold a prominent place in our memo- ries, for it was here we learned to live. Yes, Alma Mater, we your loyal sons and daughters will remember you always.
