N INTEGRAL PART of our memories of Ursuline will be Father Holdbrook, our tall friendly principal, the priest with the inimitable smile. Those of us who had him in class know him best perhaps. He was always quick with his sharp wit when things tended to become over-serious. 'lAnd what do you think, Miss Blank? he would say. Miss Blank, who usually ranked in the upper tenth, would rise and attempt an opinion. Then Father would smile that inimitable smile and make the point clear. His illustrative cartoons, too, we will long remember . . , when- ever an idea was particularly hard for us to grasp . . . he would draw a picture . . . and then we would understand. At football and basketball games, at school dances and at all activities, we looked for Father's familiar figure. Always friendly, we will perhaps best remember him in our talks with him during the lunch hours. Interested and understanding, he generally had a suggestion for our every problem. Many times, too, he had a difficulty for our every solution. Those were happy hours. They will be among the most cherished memories of Alma Mater. Prinni pal 4 f --- -41- Fallmr Hultlhruuk

His Excellency The Must Reverend Emmet M. Walsh, Il.ll. UR MEMORIES of His Excellency, Bishop Emmet M. Wfalsh, will be that of an exceptional person, possessed of that all- too-rare combination, a kindly, genial personality and a shrewd, sharp mind. He represents for us Catholic leadership of first rank. As Coadjutor, Bishop Walsh has done amazingly line work, as a glance at the record will prove-work that has won for him immense respect and admiration. His Excellency is particularly interested in the secondary school because he believes that at this all-important level, young men and women can be best molded and trained to take their places as real Catholic leaders, leaders who will help win the world for Christ. Father llnaqan A9'alSlilHl Principal RIENDLY, hardworking-and above all, vitally interested in us- this will be our memory of Father Reagan, our assistant principal. From his little corner office in the Arts building, dynamic Father Reagan, an alumnus of Ursuline, directs with a firm hand and con- siderable assurance the full schedule that is his. In his capacity as booster of the cheerleaders, rally director, adviser to the student coun- cil, aid to band-director, Mr. Vitello and dean of boys, Father Reagan works with a spirit of enthusiasm and interest which makes for suc- cessful endeavor. He knows every student by name and has a friendly smile and word of encouragement for each boy and girl. He knows how to put things so that even the greenest freshman will understand them, he wins over the most recalcitrant senior by his power of temperate per- suasion. Father Reagan will long remain for us the symbol of under- standing and encouragement.
