Reverend Valentine Long, New York City, author and radio lecturer, addresses the students of Ursuline. 14. Mrs. Wyand Doerner addresses the students and organizes the first aid classes. 15. Glee Club practice starts under the direction of Sister Leonita. 23. Our Lady's Mission Workers present the Catholic Digest and The Sign to the Cumberland Public Library. 24. The Senior Class gave the first assembly program for the first semester. 25. Reverend Father Boniface, O. F. M. Cap., former pastor of SS. Peter and Paul Church, addresses the Student Body and Faculty. . October 6. Mr. Donald Phillips, assistant director of Junior Red Cross Organization, addresses the Students. 7. First Aid Classes start work under the supervision of Mrs. Wyand Doerner, Civil- lan Defense Worker. 8. Reverend Francis Montgomery, Frostburg, addresses students. - 9. Freshman Class present play. 12. Columbus Day. Free. 13. The Western Maryland Conference of The Catholic Students' Mission, Crusade held meeting at La Salle High School. December Seniors present Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come. A large crowd attended the play. Mr. Leo H. Ley, Sr., director. Longfellow Club held meeting and gave interpretation of Longfellow's leading poems. - The Western Maryland Conference of the Catholic Students' Mission Crusade met at Catholic Girls' Central High School. Orations presented by Central Girls. Right Reverend Monsignor Louis C. Vaeth addresses students. Ursuline Auxiliary meet. Make plans for Christmas Dance. Reverend Father Tablot, S. J., writer and lecturer, New York, addresses Faculty and Students. Magazines wrapped and sent to soldiers and missionaries. Hundreds and hundreds sent to sixteen states in the Union. Many letters of thanks and appreciation received. Boxes are packed and sent to the missions. Twelve large boxes and five small ones containing book marks, pictures, toys, games, books, candy, ties, dresses, religious articles and clothing were sent to over twelve states.
