Class Will Know all men by these presents that we, the class of 1943, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, do hereby make, publish, and declare this to be our last will and testament hereby revoking any and all prior wills made by us. To our immediate successors, the Juniors: First, we bequeath all the joys of graduation-the presents, honors, and congratulations. Second, we bequeath the loyalty and devotion of this departing class to our beloved school with the understanding that this loyalty and devo- tion shall never be allowed to depart from the school but shall in sub- sequent years be passed on to the successive classes in order that class loyalty to the school shall never be lacking. Third, we bequeath such good will as may be necessary and such enthusiasm as may be required to enable the members of the class to pass all examinations next year so that they may occupy the place of honor on the platform in 1944. To all the other girls we gratefully leave all the relics of bygone yearsg including bashfulness, blunders, hard tasks left undone, giggling spells, when no one can possibly tell what is funny, with the best wishes that they may outgrow these afflictions and become earnest sedate stu- dents as become a graduating class. To every member of our faculty we bequeath, in the spirit of ap- preciation which has long been their due, all the kind expressions of gratitude which through thoughtlessness have remained unsaidg and all the respect which shall grow with the years. We hereby nominate and appoint all the members of the class of 1943 as sole executrices of this will and testament and direct that said executrices be not required to give bond beyond the twinge of their conscience should they lapse in their duty toward their school. In witness whereof We have hereunto subscribed our name and aiiixed our seal this the seventh day of June, 1943, Cumberland, Maryland. Class Prophecy Where is now the merry group That we knew long, long ago, Gathered round our Alma Mater, Full of hope and full of glow? Long we'Ve parted in that June time Of that great commencement day, They have scattered all and wandered, Some who gave our best orations, And were clever in debate, Have become our Congresswomen, And direct affairs of state. Some who wielded pen and pencil, Authors, artists, known to fame, Are a credit to our High School Whence their inspiration came. One a teacher of distinction, One a brilliant tennis star, One a record-breaker chemist, Others famous singers are, One a famous radio singer Moves us all to sobs and tears, One an architect illustrious, Two are clever basketeers. Some there are who turned to drama, And are starring on the stage, Some as playwrights won distinction far away In our brilliant day and age. Some have gone to the convent, Others trained nurses all the day. One One One One One got married to a title, acquired a millionaire, became a social leader, designs such pictures rare, became a great explorer, Another one a great inventor. Where is now that merry party That we knew long, long ago, Gathered round ot r Alma Mater, Full of youthful hope and glow. Hopes have blossomed, Oh, so niccly. In achievements and careers, We are happy as we ponder Looking back across the years.
