Someone put my pin on upside down . . . and l think l know who it is! T h e S e r v i a Ir ceremony is a traditior that has been carried out at Ursuline for many years. The sophomores dedicate themselves tc their school as they ret ceive their Sewiam pins from their senior big sisters. After eacl sophomore has been pin, ned with the symbol oi Ursuline, the whole class stands to recite the Ser viam pledge. Thi! ceremony makes everj girl feel that she is a rea member of the Ursulinn family. 'kt 'ki - ! Of course after everj ceremony there is 2 celebration and this om is no different. Th4 Seniors have refresh ments for their littlt sisters to help celebratn the spirit of happines that belongs to tht sophomore class.

Come on baby, light my fire. eohmccn jtcluction The freshman induction ceremony is the formal introduc- tion ofthe freshman class into Ur- suline. After this celebration the girls are allowed the priviledge of wearing the Ursuline uniform. The juniors and seniors are the other participants in the ceremony. The juniors present the traditional blue sweater to their alittle sistersf' Seniors par- ticipate in the candlelight portion of the induction. A reception, following the celebration, concludes the eve- ning. Patty Zamarippa congratulates little sister Patricia Camacho. 13

', -fm. nf ' - 4 ' ,.,. ,Q-,f W his ee... . . SISTERS GET TUGETHER. At the beginning of the school year each junior chooses a girl from the freshman class to be her little sister. The juniors act as 'grealn big sisters to the freshmen. If there are ever any questions the freshmanls big sister will always try to help. Some- times the only thing a freshman wants is a friend and a big sister is always the best kind of friend that a little sister can have. f ig gi e. - rl,lrrarrr.rrr rryyyrrr yr.rryrr,,r,l,, . aaar ,, e ' 5' iifff i Did you notice the connective tissue on your fried chicken? To get acquainted at the beginning of every school year the fresh- men and juniors go on the annual Big-Sister, Little-Sister picnic. This is usually a very enjoyable way to get to know the people whom you will be going to school with. The juniors provide the food and refresh- ments for the fresh- men and do every- thing possible to make the new members of the school feel that they are welcome.
