The dances sponsored were an all-high school mixer at the first of the year, the homecoming dance, a Valentine dance, and a Leap Year dance. There were also dances after some football games and at noon-hours. Assembly programs throughout the year brought to UHS a great variety of talent, including a liquid air demonstration, a one-act play, a variety act, a demonstration of electrical wonders, and an arrnless performer, Special assemblies were presented on Thanksgiving, Christmas, Veterans' Day and Easter. The special projects sponsored were highlighted by the student carnival, which was a huge success. Other projects were: an ugliest boy contest fto raise money for the March of Dimesb, a talent show, a bundle drive and a volleyball tournament. With a portion of their hard-earned money, the student council purchased a public address system for the school. This page is sponsored by POILLON ENGINEERING CO., 6960 Douglas
