TRACK Urbandale's teack team has been making good progress since its beginning three years ago. This year the cindermen participated in relays at Valley, Drake and Grinnell, and they entered the conference, district and state track meets. In the district meet, Tom Alexander became the first Urbandale track man to win two medals in that contest, He broke the school record in winning the high jump and also won a medal in the 180 low hurdles. Bill Little qualified for the state finals in shot-put, as did the 880 yard relay team of Rusk, Newbrough, Visser and Boals. Entering state competition for the first year, Urbandale placed fourth in the high jump, with Tom Alexander's 5' 5 2314 and set a school record in the 880 yard relay. This team was made up of McNabb, Newbrough, Visser and Boals. Congratulations, boys, on a big year in Urbandale track!
