:- Left to right: Mr. Drayer, sponsor: Marvin Mast, Vice President: Karen Goebel, President: Mary Ann Weck, Secretary-Treasurer: Roberta Akers, Reporter. FOUR BUSY YEARS Fall of 1954 found 23 freshmen begin- ning their high school years at Urbana High. Class officers were: Wayne Dawes, President: Betty Bates, Vice President: Karen Goebel, Secretary-Treasurer: and Sally Jacobs, Reporter. The annual class party was held at Sally Jacob's home, with Mr. Trump as sponsor. With Marvin Mast, President: Betty Bates, Vice President: Karen Goebel, Secretary- Treasurer: and Wendel Dawes, Reporter, the sophomore class sponsored a cake walk at the Spring Carnival and ordered their class rings. For their class party they attended the Scots Guards Review in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Dawald was the sponsor. Most active of all school years was the junior year. Electing Wayne Dawes as President: Mary Ann Weck, Vice President: Roberta Akers, Secretary: Betty Bates, Treasurer: and Peggy Eads, Reporter, the selling of concessions was their largest project. Class rings were received and the juniors sponsored an All School Skating Party. Christmas card sales and the Junior Play brought in more money toward the all important senior trip. With the help of Mrs. Antrim, the sponsor, the juniors put on the Junior-Senior Banquet. Beginning the last mile of their journey, the senior class, with officers Karen Goebel, President: Marvin Mast, Vice President: Mary Ann Weck, Secretary-Treasurer: and Roberta Akers, Reporter, started off with the magazine sales. Other projects were the Senior Play, another All School Skating Party, and the choosing of class colors, flower, and motto. Under the expert guidance of Mr. Drayer, the class was successful in all projects. Winding up four happy years of both work and play to- gether, the class of 1958 celebrated with senior day and sent 18 eager seniors out into the world. ,4L...,
