J... nJleLl ,k.h . f an: . ff.-,,,,,e During a week of balmy spring weather, many colorful and exciting events took place which form the traditional Spring Week at Upsala. Co-chairmen Laverne Blickle and Wendell Breithaupt planned a week which will stand out as one ofthe most memorable of all Spring Week celebrations. The festivi- ties began with the traditional Motorcade of Spring Queen finalists and continued throughout the week in the form of the annual fashion show, the coronation ceremony, the Footlight production, track and field day, and was climaxed by the an- nual All-Upsala Banquet. Spring Week, 1955 may well be con- sidered as one of the most successful and entertaining celebra- tions of past years at Upsala.

Motorcade A motorcade from Kenbrook Hall to the East Orange City Hall began the Spring Week pageantry. Riding in fashionable 1955 Ford convertibles supplied by Griggs and Washington Motors, the ten spirited Junior finalists: Jane Birch, Laverne Blickle, Irene Di Bi- ase, Pat Fox, Alice Hyder, Edithe Jurew, Joyce Ohlson, Nancy Ostberg, Gwen Thelin, and Joan Vandermark with Nancy Wood, l954-55 Spring Queen in the lead, made their way through the city streets. The candidates were accompanied by Student Council president, Ron Brown and Spring Week chairman, Wendell Breithaupt.
