Jurew. 1 The third production of the season was the hilarious com- edy, Misalliance by George Bernard Shaw, staged in arena style in the Cafeteria on March l, 2 and 3. Its theme concerned the relationship between parents and children. The difficult script was an exciting challenge forthe Footlighters, who scored suc- cessfully with fine characterizations by Mel Shikora, Marion Abrams, Dick Evers, Tom Whitty, Joyce Ohlson, Jane Timko, Ronnie Zeitz, Waldron Coon and Dave Cobb. The final indoor presentation ofthe year was on March 25 when Sheila Dare, Art Campbell and Ron Miller appeared in The Terrible Meek, a one-act Easter drama presented in Christ Chapel. The Footlight Club will wind up the year by again present- ing two nights of entertainment as part ofthe Spring Week fes- tivities. The show, set for May 9 and l0, will be a musical version of Ben Johnson's Volpone. Joyce Ohlson, as the Polish lady-wrestler, shows her prowess as she turns over Mel Shikora. Dick Evers, as Mr. Tarleton looks on in wonder at her strength. K' 1. .a v 5 ,gg ti bf , 1. ,Q 1 S. M K 'f 54 7... f' . :ig Q.

Edie Jurew, as the lnnkeeper's wife, expressed her feelings about the won- derous event thot has taken place in their stable. Listening to her words are the lnnkeeper fDave Brownj, Dismis, the thief fRonnie Zeitzj, Leah Uane Timkol and Sarah Uoyce Ohlsonj. The Upsala Footlight Club, under the direction of Prof. Earl Dossey, launched the most ambitious schedule in its history by presenting five plays in 1955-56. The season opened on November 18 and 19, in Christ Chapel when the club staged the sensitive play, The Cradle Song. It starred the club's best actresses who successfully en- acted the comedy and drama in the lives ofa group of Dominican nuns in a Spanish convent. The second play was the one-act, A Child ls Born, by Stephen Vincent Benet, presented on December I 1 and again, following the Annual Candlelight Supper, on December 15. This poetic Christmas play starring Edie Jurew and Dave Brown was given admirable staging and interpretation. Merle Osterweil, as a young novice nun, welcomes the tiny baby to the Convent of Dominican Nuns. 168
