Edie Jurew, as the lnnkeeper's wife, expressed her feelings about the won- derous event thot has taken place in their stable. The Upsala Footlight Club, under the direction of Prof. Earl Dossey, launched the most ambitious schedule in its history by presenting five plays in 1955-56. The season opened on November 18 and 19, in Christ Chapel when the club staged the sensitive play, The Cradle Song. It starred the club's best actresses who successfully en- acted the comedy and drama in the lives ofa group of Dominican nuns in a Spanish convent. The second play was the one-act, A Child ls Born, by Stephen Vincent Benet, presented on December I 1 and again, following the Annual Candlelight Supper, on December 15. This poetic Christmas play starring Edie Jurew and Dave Brown was given admirable staging and interpretation.
