Q gf 4Qff '7 Wi tt 3? fq??6,a is- in 4l! ,. 'L' wwe, 'Y At Last - a dream come true! October 2, 1956 will see the dedica- tion of Upsala's new Gymnasium-Auditorium. Plagued with many of the typical growing pains of a new young building, the new Gym will finally be- come an actuality. The Gym will serve a manifold purpose: a center for rec- reational and social functions, a home court for the Viking basketball team, and an auditorium for concerts, lectures and other community functions. A thousand thanks to the many alumnae, students, and friends who have turned this dream into a reality.

TENNIS The 1956 Tennis Team is unique in that there isn't a senior on the squad. This, however, doesn't spell a dim fu- ture for Coach Lundgren's charges. A strong nucleus from last year's team, led by Captain Dick Heyman, w.ill be on hand to spark the netsters. Last year's squad amassed an 8-3 record featuring wins over Moravian College, Fairleigh Dickinson College, and Seton Hall University. This year the tennis team will face some stiff opposition in Rider, Hofstra, Drew, and Scranton. Returning to singles berths on this year's team are Dick Heyman and Hank Meyers. An extremely promising crop of new talent made its appear- ance at fall practice, and with the very fine coaching of Charles Lundgren, the I5-match season should be a winning one.-R.H. W. A. A. The W.A.A. was reorganized this year under the direction of Miss Mary Lou Thompson. The officers for l955- 56 were: President, Ranita Watson, Vice-president, Pat Read, Secretary, Alayne Grenci, Treasurer, Lydia Wil- cox, Business Manager, Lois Philport. A varsity basketball team, cap- toined by Ranita Watson, played the Newark YWCA, St. Michael's School of Nursing and the Men Faculty in a movement toward more inter-collegiate activity for Upsala's coeds. The Inter-sorority softball league held the interest of the girls during the Spring. A bowling league was also begun during these months. W.A.A. hopes for bigger and bet- ter things for next year under their re- vised constitution andthe increasing interest of the girls of Upsala. f-1 T 5t?iTiE?:.l C 4' XL I .wa - ' , Back row: Coach Lundgren, W.
