Our exchange students come to us through the Youth for Understanding Program, which is a non-profit educational oganization. lt is dedicated to fostering greater international understanding by making it possible for young people to have an overseas family living experience. Since 1951, Youth for Understanding has brought the excitement of international exchange to more than 50,000 students in fifty countries. U.S.H.S. is privileged to have three exchange students this year. Kari Ysteboe from Norway is staying with the Richard Diebert Family, Yukari Abe from Japan is staying with the Herschel Rhodes family and Dulce Costa from Brazil is staying with the Larry Fruth family. We have all profited from the experience of having these three students with us, and we hope they have had an interesting and educational experience in the United States. 'S'- -I1 Qll t . Many people were involved in making the musical a success, and a success it was. It was presented March 29, 30, 31 and April 1. Teamwork that changed the musi- cal i l i The play begins in 1905 in a small Jewish village called Anatevka. This settlement tucked away close to Si- beria, is controlled by the Russians and is just prior to the Bolshevik Revolution and the eventual take- over of the communists. From 70 A.D. until 1948, the Jews were a people without a land to call their own. One way that they sur- vived is with the help of their God Cand our Godj and tradition. Traclition. As in making movies, the production of a yearbook requires the help and consideration of a great many individuals. Our thanks to those people who helped with this year's book, and a special thanks to our advisor, Mr. Snyder, for all his help. We sincerely hope that we have covered the year adequately and there are no errors or omissions. mf THE END AWD s-1l'ua 'S Yilfiliw comamv 4
