assistants, Phyllis Miller and Barbara Maxwell. Having admired their displays, we passed on down the boulevard where our attention was attracted by the bright sign over the B 8: K Paint and Body Shop, owned by Bill Bickham and Marion Karg. They were being aided by their mechanical-minded helpers, Dave Gillen, Bob Vent, and Ed Gillen. Moving on, we noticed the local high school and decided to stop. The principal, David Gibson, welcomed us and introduced us to the faculty: Nancy Eippert, Ruth Kiehl, Nancy Veith, and coaches Dennis Gerber and David McClain. As we strolled through the school yard, we saw Wilda Swartz, Janet Bennett, Debbie Riley, and Gladys Moses bringing their children to school. In the distance we saw the low lines of the Atomic Research Laboratory, where Donald Stephan and Larry Newman, the celebrated scientists, were constructing a satellite which they hoped to place in the sky over Never-Never Land as added protection against invaders. Next we ins-pected the island's defenses. VVe were especially interested in the Naval Department where Captain Roger CBonesD Swartz showed us their latest ship, the jolly Roger, which was con- structed under the direction of Jerry Gierhart. Ensign Melford Swihart hopes to sail this tub around the planet. VVhile aboard, we met the ship's doctor, Tom Roszman, and his nurses, Barbara Paulin, Sally Koehler, Shirley Clark, and Clara Riedlinger. VVe were shown through the town's library where the librarians, Shirley McClain and Nancy Scheidegger, presented us with the island's best-selling books, Fairies Unrestricted, by Barbara Deg- ler, and 'The Fairy Olympicsf' by Roger Boyle. From the library we went for a little relaxation to the drag strip outside of town. There we saw David Gottfried, Jim Pfeifer, Bob Little, and Richard Hudson testing their latest jet-propelled Hup- mobile. Our time was drawing short as we were taken to Pat Siegel's Cafe-on-the-beach. Here we were served a delicious snack by Sally VValters and Rose Ann VValterho1.1se. Thus our tour of the fabulous island of our dreams, Never-Never Land, ended. On the way to our ship we stopped at Burt Kellyis Produce Farm, where we replenished our sup- plies for -the return trip to earth. If you ever by chance come upon this secluded island, drop in.
