SENIOR CLASS PLAY Feeling the need for a change, jane Eyre leaves the seclusion of the state orphan's home where she has spent most of her life, first as a resident, then as a teacher. While governess at mysterious Thornheld Hall, she soon falls in love with the master of the house, Mr. Rochester. In the midst of the wedding ceremony, ,lane learns that Mr. Rochester has a wife, who is insane. Jane rushes from the wedding, and is not seen again. In one of her mad rages, Mr. Rochesvteris wife starts a fire in which she kills herself, and ,blinds him. This horrid chain of events makes Mr. Rochester a withdrawn old man, whose heart is eaten out with love for .lane Eyre. Jane returns to Thornl-ield, fully convinced that she cannot live apart from Mr. Rochester. Upon Hlled with pity which is overshadowed by love. learning of his plight, she is Story--book fashion, jane and Mr. Rochester marry and live happily ever after.
