The entire action of the play took place in the sitting room of the fashionable suburban residence of Alicia Underhill. Her son David arrived 'home after a whirlwind courtship of his new Hancee, Natalie Price. In the driveway he found an unconscious, rain-soaked girl who, after regaining consciousness, appeared to have amnesia. During the time that Natalie and Eve , as she was temporarily called, were staying with the Underhills, there were several unusual occurrences. Included in these events was the murder of Thomas. the butler. Since everyone believed that Eve was pretending to have amnesia, she was immediately accused. The search for a suspect in another murder case only tended to make the plot more complicated. The play was concluded with an unsuspected turn of events, which cleared the innocent and made the true murderer evident. The following oHicers were elected to guide us on our journey: president, james Kelly, vice presi- dent, Bill Stephens, and secretary-treasurer, Marilyn Dillon. Mr. Olin and Mr. Koenig served as our advisors during the year. VVe held our Hrst class party on january 29. As sophomores, we chose Nancy Ellis, presidentg David Krebs, vice president, Ruth Roszman, secretary, and Nancy Whalen, treasurer. The big event of the year occurred in january when we selected our class rings under the supervision of Mr. Criner, Mr. Shafer, and Mr. Fleeman. On january 21, our first taste of acting came when we presented Billy's First Date at the Tri-Masque Play Festival, Later in the year we had a hard-times party. Then we became juniors. VVe are greatly indebted to Mrs. Caves and Miss Rakestraw for their unfailing services during this year. Under their leadership we sold refreshments at the football and basketball games. To lead our class in 1954, we chose Robert Graham, president, james Kelly, vice presidentgaand Corina Rhoden, secretary-treasurer. Our class party was held on November 3, with a large attendance. VVe, the Class of 1955, will our heartaches and our faults to the grave, and our joys and our successes to the world. SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY Place: HEAVEN T i-me: ETERNITY TI-IE HEAVENLY JOURNAL This journal is dedicated to those of you who have not yet arrived, in order that you might learn what has happened to the famous class of '55. VVidely known for our angelic mannerisms while attending dear old U.S.l-l.S., we have all finally reached our desired destination--Heaven!! The immortal Ferne Clinger was recently elected the first woman president of the United Heavens. lncidentally, President Clinger was nominated by the class of '55 as 'ithe pupil least likely to succeed! However, much of her success is due to her brilliant pro- moters, Dick Hoy and jim Motter, who have spent centuries preparing suitable speeches, tours, et cetera. Bob Batton and Bill Briddick have gone on another expedition, this time to paint the moon pink. But, they always were color-conscious!! Ah-h, listen to that music! Ruth Ptoszman leads our heavenly choir, composed of Linda Little and lane Sherbuck, sopranosg Helen Kinley and Sally Schroer, altosg and Corina Rhoden, falsetto. Phyllis Beausay accompanies them on the harp. VVayne VValter, assistant to Saint Peter, has gone back to school to learn how to count higher, 'because he can't make out the last thousand numbers in Saint Peter's Great Ac- count Book! Professors Sara Lou Miller, A.M., P.M.g Evelyn Smith, A.B.C., X.Y.Z.g and Marilyn Koehler, C.O.D., have agreed to take the full responsibility of instructing this crazy, mixed-up kid! If you have noticed that the nights just aren't what they used to be, it's because JoAnne Hetzner and her assistant artists, Carolann Herring, joy Schoolheld, and Suzanne Althauser, have designed a seven-pointed star. How exquisite!! Mad scientist Jim Castanien and his ingenious helpers, Bob Farnholtz, Dick Iones, and Dave Swinehart, have decided that the heavenly quarters have become too crowded with angels other than the class of '55. They are trying to develop a solution to dissolve the clouds so that some of the angels can be let down. I am afraid this experiment might be disastrous! Larry Obee has agreed to establish a Cloud Guard Academy especially designed for fallen angels. Jim Radwick, Buss Rall, Bob Smith, and Gary Saull are eagerly awaiting to be admitted. Farmers Frank Arnold, john Clinger, Ronnie Frey, Bob Iaqueth, Allen Keller, and Kelly Slater have been trying out the new farming method created by Jim Kelly and Earl Riedlinger. The new method is to rotate the clouds so that crops of harps will grow to be of better quality. But it doesn't seem to be working-the clouds are beginning to turn black, and some are secreting water. Nancy Ellis and Nancy Whalen, who operate the distinguished and fashionable Cloud Hopper Dancing Studio, designed to teach boys of the class of '55 to hopscotch, have announced that the following pupils will soon graduate: Tom Caldwell, Bob Shidler, Don Long, Earl Minard, and Everett Obenour. Nice going, girls, I'm sure that wasn't an easy task. Head physician David Krebs, along with attractive nurses Carol Stechcr, Sandy Corbin, and lean Wisne1', has been busy mending broken wings. I wish this class of '55 would quit trying to Hy too soon. VVhy, Bill Thompson, David Steck, Bob Beard, Roland Drew, and Ronnie Miller have been convalescing in the heavenspital for several light years now. VVon't these hot wingersn ever learn? The Big Four, Ron Eyestone, Tom Henige, Dave Larcomb, and Bill Stephens, have changed secretaries again. Having decided that they need someone to carry out their great task of governing our heavenly quarters, they -hired angelic secretaries, Marilyn Dillon, Carole Main, Pat Book, and Mary lane Sammet, who will probably end up doing all the work for their playboy bosses. Hurry up, boys, for heaven's sakes! Sherman Stansbery and Bob Swihart still haven't finished polishing the Colden Gates. Maybe its's because they have to crawl up the gates, there are no stepladders in heaven. Have you ever wondered who prepared all our delicious meals? Why, Head Chef Werner Reich, famous for his German delicacies, of course! He and his cooks, Shirley Constien, Ieananne Cook, Julia Klein, and Deloris Will, prepared such treats as Angel's Delight and Mock Angel Food Cake. Um-m-m, good!! Look out! Someone might get hurt! Bob Graham, Bill Hauff, Mike Riley, and Dave Miller insist upon trying to throw clouds through the' angels' haloes. They must think they are still playing basketball for the Rams. Shirley Bartholomew, Marilyn Karg, Beverly Heffelfinger, Colleen Morris, Carrol Vent, and Carol Wolfrum are designing new, exotic creations. These foremost Seamstresses an- nounced that the gossamer gowns will be shown soon. Larry Swihart, Eddie Kuenzli, Bernard Vent, and Tom Warfel have earned the honor- able position of polishing the rainbows and you can't hardly get them no more. Since their duties include the rainbows of every planet, they must ride the cosmic rays, which are the fastest means of travel here in heaven. So if, after an April Shower, no rainbow appears, you'll know-somebody goofed!! And so, my dear Alma Mater, it is now farewell until we meet again, for perhaps you too will reach this heavenly paradise! The first memorable event was the annual class party held on October 21, which was enjoyed by all who attended. The second outstanding event occurred when we presented the Iunior Class Play, State Fair, under the direction of Mr. Kenneth Kohn. A capacity crowd enjoyed the play on November 19. The class sponsored the biggest event of the year when the seniors were honored with the prom on May 20. This beautiful farewell to the seniors was made possible by selling refreshments at all home football and basketball games. We couldnit close the chapter without thanking the class sponsors, Mrs. Caves, Mr. Drebus, and Mr. Kohn, for helping us to have a successful year. Melissa fears her pickles will not beat those of Mrs. Rawlins, state pickle champion. At the fair Margy falls in love with a suave newspaperman. NVayne too falls in love. just when everything looks settled the old flames turn up at the fair. As the storekeeper predicts, they work things out. Blue Boy is proclaimed sweepstakes winner. The experiences gained by being in a classroom as an actual teacher, and the knowledge learned in the discussions throughout the year were very profitable to all. SR. G.A.A. The presiding ollicer of Sr. G.A.A. this year was Marilyn Koehler. With the help of the vice president, Beverly Heffellinger, the year was begun. Ruth Roszman carefully filled the position of secretary, and Marilyn Dillon, as treasurer, kept busy collecting dues and paying bills. The most important event on the schedule for the club was the Valentine Party, Cupid's Caper, on February 14, at which a King and a Queen of Hearts and their at- tendants were chosen. Plans for it began to form immediately after the annual initiation of new members. A mixture of formations and precision marching pleased everyone. It is with heavy hearts that thirty-two seniors leave the band, but the memories of the long practices, the bus rides. and the feeling that we really represented our school well wherever we went will always be cherished. Although the scoreboard read in favor of the opponents most of the time, the Rams were never outfought. Their style of play was excellent, and they maintained a never-die attitude. ' RESERVE CHEERLEADERS To ease the strain on the varsity cheerleaders at the basketball games, we had another group of younger girls who led the cheers for the reserve games. This was the Hrst year of cheerleading for most of them, and they did an excellent job. VVe thank these girls very much for their co-operation and leadership.
