An essential ingredient of such a Iook at ourselves is an understanding of ourselves and our motives. All the educational efforts here at Upper Perkiomen have been directed toward providing you with this knowledge of yourself and your relationship to other people and the world in general. Roth Principal YEARBOOK MESSAGE 1967 The theme which you have chosen for your yearbook, A Look At Ourselves , a self- evaluation, is in itself unique, The goal of helping each individual achieve his unique character is one of giant propor- tions. The complex and interrelated world with its social, economic, political, religious, and idealogical conflicts seems to raise insurmountable barriers to achievement of this goal, However, from history we learn that the more complex life becomes, the greater is the need for independence and individuality, Since it is the schools which must largely assume responsibility for preserving and developing the special talent and character of each individual, it is hoped that the years spent at Upper Perkiomen will reflect an image of pride as you take a look at yourself.
