The theme you selected for your yearbook, L'Stepping Stones to World Understanding, has significant implications. I hope you have made a long stride toward the attainment of your goal at Upper Perkiomen, that you have a better understanding of your neighbors - in your community, in your country, and in the world. Permit me to quote from my message to the Class of 1960, Ulf the visions and hopes of mankind are to be realized for this world - freedom and with it world peace - one must be able to decide what is good, desirable, and valuable for all concerned. Your association and acquaintanceship with the two foreign students attending our school have given you an invaluable percept of world under- standing, and I am sure that these students have experienced similar benefits.
