THE PUSH LIPS' Boys' Gym OUR Bovs PHYSICAL Eour AT1oN PROGRAM has been expanded and readyusted to meet war tlme needs The purpose has been to make our boys physlcally ht for the unusually heavy tasks vxhxch they w1ll be called upon to perform ln the near future for most of them nt wxll be lnductlon 1nto the armed forces Thns purpose calls for the development of strength endurance sta nma and bod1ly coordlnatxon Our act1v1t1es were revxsed and four or flve hours a week now are devoted to physncal educatlon classes A boys weekly schedule 1ncludes calxsthenlcs cross country m1l1tary track vxrestllng boxmg basketball acrobatxcs or foot A serles of tests has been glven to gauge each boy s coord1n at1on and strength of varnous muscle groups Records have been kept and the best mdlvldual performers have been as follows Pushups 100 Wllllam O l-lara nlnth grade Pullups 19 Teddy Mlller eleventh grade Burpee 15 ln 20 seconds Mlchael Tar hovlcky twelfth grade Army Sltups 150 Lloyd Mullen twelfth grade Obstacle Course 62 seconds Walter Hertzog twelfth grade Cross Country Course 750 seconds Rlchard W1lllamS enghth grade Legs Up lendurancej 527 seconds Rocco Ross twelfth grade y ' I l . ball, as the season indicates.
