CLASS HISTORY ln September 1946 we, the class of '50, assembled in Mr. Evans, room to begin our four years of high school. Although our class was organized, we engaged in very few activities. Autumn of 1947 found us as sophomores. However to our regret our class had dwindled greatly. We took several biology field trips, and in the Spring we visited Valley Forge. Before we were aware of it, the school year had ended and half of our senior high career was gone. After our summer vacation, twenty of us returned to school in September. We welcomed Robert Albright, Nancy Hoover, Virginia Horst, Robert Stitzel, and Sara Sweigart to our class. Under the super- vision of Mr. Eshleman we organized our class. We selected our class rings and received them in time for Christmas. Soon after our Christmas vacation, we were busily rehearsing our junior play, Desperate Am- brose, under the direction of Mrs. Lilley, we presented our play in March. Later we went to Gettysburg and toured the battleground. Near the close of the term, we entertained the senior class at a party. In September 194-9 we assembled in Miss Kendigls room and organized our class for our last year in high school. ln November we presented our senior play, The Awkward Pause, directed by Mrs. Lilley. In the spring we were entertained by the junior class. We also went on a trip to Washington, D. C. Baccalaureate Services were held on May 21, and Commencement exercises May 29, 1950. As we left Upper Leacock, we carried with us fond memories that will not be' forgotten. i' C L A S S P O E M COMMENCEMENT We're about to enter the cruel world To make or break our name, But with our royal pennant unfurled We're sure of winning fame. Typical citizens on the brink Of stamping out all wrong, Weill not forget to stop and think To make our conquest strong. So we sincerely wish to assure You who have helped us here That we shall use those lessons so pure To meet tasks without fear. -Virginia Horst F131
