Bottom Row: Laurie Davis, Alice Tomkins, Kathy Meyer, Diane Tomkins. Varsity It has been a long time coming but we finally got there. Upper-Lakes Varsity Volleyball team shared championship honors this season. We have no super stars. We won because of the determination and comra- dery of this years super group. Everyone did everything,' is the phrase that best describes why we were successful. The support these players gave to one another was fantastic. They derived satisfaction from seeing one of their teammates do well and praised them highly. They are '-buddfeswmd revel in each otheris success. Overall, this is a happy, enthusiastic, team willing to work and play hard. This group of girls is not just a volleyball team, they are a group of very special individuals. Yes, they won the co-championship, but, more important they won the respect and admiration of all those who were lucky enough to associate with them. I consider myself fortunate to have worked with these wonderful players. They are humane and caring, qualities which will ensure future success. Yes, I would adopt any one of them, but, more than that, I would be proud to call each of them my friend. I have worked with some of these girls for 3 years and will miss them. The relationships I have developed with each of the members of this team are deep and rewarding. Every member of this team has en- deared themselves to me in their own way. I wish them all the success and happiness they deserve. For those of you who graduate I wish you all good things. For the others I'm looking forward to seeing you again next year. 'aa as I lv' NWN
