SERENADE OF THE SOUTH May 9, 1958 Our junior year began a series of memorable events. But to most of us 'the Junior-Senior Prom will be remembered most. Preparations were begun even in September, but the hard work didn't begin until january. It was then we realized the prom was only four months away. Our theme was chosen, Southern Plantation, Our title, Serenade ..11 1 v l ,,.- Our Pride anu Jw- .E' isa , of the South. How could we foret the long afternoons after school painting the stone wall, the long evenings whitewashing stones, building arbors, and the long vain search for pillars? The last days were the most hectic. The roof of the plantation house was non-existent, 582,000 worth of shrubs were borrowed, but our pride and joy, the fish pond and waterfall, posed our biggest problem. Ray Cari-5 Band. October 25, 1958 I. 5 her COW Queen an The traditional Coronation ball Whiclu is held at the end of the fall, Is the time when we honor our queen Chosen by the students and the football team. On the afternoon of the Collegeville game Our boys played in the Saturday rain. Her Mdsgsvl SUSAN SCHOFIELD SUGAR PLUM BALL: DeCembef20,1958 The Senior hearts were filled with cheer. They knew their Christmas dance was near. Plans and decorations were completed in a week, And not a person had the time to sleep. The name of the dance was The Sugar Plum Ball. Many a verdant tree graced our dancing hall. N f I x Sa K -,es get Plum V The P . IOCSSSIOH But as the evening of the dance drew near, The hearts of everyone filled with cheer The Queen and her court presided, While over the floor we glided, All in all the evening was fine, And everyone had a wonderful time. The music was woven by the five jones Boys, Who helped to create the seson's joys. The lights provided the proper mood, And all who came enjoyed the food. Everyone danced many a measure, And all agreed the evening a pleasure. Original Jones Boys.
