Every two years, three or two new mem- bers are elected by the people on a party ballot at the Nov- ember election. The Republican and Demo- cratic parties nominate candi- dates for the primary election the third Tuesday of May. Af- ter the fall election the three with the highest votes begin their term the first Monday of December. Qualifications for a member of the school board are that he be a citizen of Up- per Dublin school district for one year and be at least twenty- one years of age. The Board operates the same The Stockholders as a Board of Directors of a large corporation. They have the power to levy taxes, and erect buildings. They make the final endorsement of all se- lections on the staff of the school, approve purchase of all supplies, and ratify the school curriculum. The school board meetings are held the second Monday of every month and are open to the general public for sugges- tion and criticism.
