You have reached a significant goal in your life, and we hope that you have already set goals out and beyond, which you are going to try and attain. I Commencement signifies a beginning rather than an ending. You have received some of the tools by which you are going to live a life, useful or otherwise, depending a great degree on your attitude and how well you have built during the last twelve years in school. You are on the threshold of real opportunity and real challenge. We hope you will not falter. May you benefit by the instruction and the experiences which you have had in Upper Dub- lin. The school has endeavored to give you a rich, cultural background and a command of the fundamental operations. We hope you will use it as a basis to continue your education, whether in college, in the office, in the shop, or in what- ever field of endeavor you might enter. You have a noble heritage in that you are the recipient of all the scientific and technological advances of preceding years. But, a few years ago, sputnilrs and outer space were but a mere dream instead of a reality.
