Planning And Building Of New Facilities Are Main Topic Of District. High school students watched the demolition of the old building as they began classes in a just completed aca- demic wing. By September, 1972, there will have been added to the senior high complex an Olympic swimming pool, a new library, a 1,750 seat amphitheater auditorium, another classroom wing, and administrative offices. Dr. Moore Leaves After Seven Years Of Dedicated Service. Crowded stairwells, shaking buildings, and broken air-conditioning were a few of the many problems Dr. Moore had to cope with the beginning of the school year. Dr. Charles I. Moore Principal of Upper Darby High School, is leaving after seven years of dedicated work. During his tenure the (acuity has increased from 120 to 150 members. His influence has brought about a great many changes which greatly affect the students. An ex- panded curriculum now gives a wider choice of elective subjects. There are more extra curricular activities than ever before, and the students have more free- dom for new experiments and exper- iences, including great freedom of dress. He is proudest of his Open-Door Policy, where teachers and students are free to come and discuss problems at any time. Dr. Moore completes final business before moving onto his new district position.
