Providing educational opportunities for Upper Darby’s ten thousand students in the elementary, junior, and senior high schools was the main function of the Up- per Darby School Board. Under the chair- manship of Dr. George G. Dilworth, the Board modified the school curricula so that students would be better prepared to meet the challenge of modern tech- nological advancement. In recent years, the Board engaged in an extensive expansion program which included the construction of a new wing and gymnasium for the Senior High.
