Xe- Super FOREWORD Beginning to build for life's super highway We asked, How shall we build the Road? To our question, the English teacher replied, ighway must communicate effectively. your Road by reading great books, Deepening it with thoughtful understanding. wtfuild on the philosophies of those great men Who have traveled well through their lives. Teachers of history and the humanitarians: The past lights the present, builds a future. Blueprint to understanding your fellow men, No man is an island, but part of the main. In answer to our question, the mathematicians: Survey your Road with accurate measures. Accept no hypothesis until finally proved, All axioms, theorems, laws are your guideposts. The science teacher answered our question: Build your Road on a foundation of facts. Construct your Road well here on Earth Before you try to build it to the Moon. Latin, French, German, Spanish teachers: To perfect the Road, know other languages. Only when words have universal meaning, Can man travel the Roadways of Peace. Concerning Roads, the commercial teacher suggested, Build with courtesy, accuracy, and speed. Out of lengthy experience, the Musicmaster: Build lightheartedly, rhythmically-with song. Home economics teacher: Highways are happy ways Happy, when they lead the way to home. Build your Road with economy and care, Remember, family points to perfect life. The physical education instructor told us: There is no building without endurance. Know that though a Road has obstacles, It is conquered trouble that toughens fiber. You, yourself, must learn how to understand When the Road's too steep-it's time to rest. The perfect highway, the artist counseled, Is built with beautiful quality and grace. We shall build our Road with these qualities: Thoughtful understanding-accuracy, knowledge. Our goals before us-mood established, We begin building life's super highway. ,2s- ff i., M
