principal “My great ambition is to constantly im- prove Upper Darby, its physical plant, qual- ity of instruction, and curriculum.” This statement fully expresses the phil- osophy of Dr. James E. Nancarrow, prin- cipal of Upper Darby High School since 1943. Dr. Nancarrow is a graduate of Buck- nell University, Columbia University, and the University of Pittsburgh, where he re- ceived his Doctor of Education degree. Our principal’s interest in school improve- ment has not been dedicated to Upper Darby alone, but to educational improve- ment on a national scale. He is a member of twelve local, state, and national educational societies. In addition to these duties as an educator. Dr. Nancarrow finds time to enjoy hunting, fishing, gardening, and Upper Darby ath- letics. Dr. Nancarrow indeed merits congratula- tions from the entire student body for his dedication to Upper Darby. Dr. James E.
