Min Frances F. Weimer The acceleroted English class gives its attention to Miss Goukrodger. the wonderful world of hooks Miss Helen M. Mowry Juniors and seniors interested in careers in writing, public relations, or advertising, may elect courses in journalism: two classes in public speaking ore held for those interested in careers where proper speech habits are necessory. In the College Preparatory Course the aim is to prepare the students for college entrance. Vocabulary, grammar, composition, and literature play on important port in the course of study. In the junior year the department requires a research paper, an important factor for college training. In the Arts and Crofts course. English is'a requirement. General English classes emphasize skills needed by these pupils for whom high school is terminal. In the Business and Commercial Curriculums. the study of grammar occupies a great deal of time, because of the type of work these students will encounter upon graduation. For seniors who hove shown outstanding ability in English, on accelerated closs offers an opportunity to advance more rapidly in their work.
