Nancarrow Principal To the Class of 1957: The faculty of Upper Darby High School extends its sincere congratulations and best wishes to the closs of 1957 upon the satisfactory completion of the prescribed courses in the curriculum. As you go out to take your place in the world, we trust that you have taken advantage of train- ing which has been available to you. and that you have properly equipped yourself to perform your duties os a good citizen and to meet your oppor- tunities as an individual. We hope that you will have the desire and the ability to produce some- thing which society needs, something which is constructive and of benefit to your fellow-men. May you participate creatively in the work of the world and constantly strive to serve. We shall watch your future achievements and note your progress. We extend our best wishes os you move on into a larger life of opportunities and challenges. Mr. Jesse Matlock Benefiting Planning and producing beneficial developments in the school system of Upper Darby is the heavy burden of our School Board. At their regular monthly meeting such items os selecting new foculty members and providing new school facilities for Upper Darby's 21.000 school children are discussed. The sincere effort and careful deliberation which these people put forth in searching for solutions to these problems makes every Upper Darby citizen grateful and proud. The increasing population of our township causes an overcrowded condition in our schools. In order to help remedy this situation and reduce the pressure on the present Junior High School on Garrett Rood, the School Board has developed a program for Junior High students at the Dr. Harlan F.
