 Sophomores Were Brandle Mason, President; Robert. Myer. Treasurer; Alon Walton Vice-President; Jonn Powell, Secretary, MISS HELEN M. MOWRY The class of '57 owed much of the success of their first year on the hill to their advisers. Miss Helen Mowry and Mr. Paul Coffey. Miss Mowry, of the English Department, conducted classes in public speaking during school hours, while Mr. Coffey, of the History Department, taught Prob- lems of Demccrocy and American History. The odvisers were ossisted by the class officers: Brandle Mason, president; Alan Walton, vice-president; Jann Powell, secretary; Robert Myer, treasurer; and Arlene Leddy, historian. As their initial money raising campaign, the sophs undertook the selling of mogazine sub- scriptions. This project netted $3100 for their treasury thus eliminating financial worries for their three yeors on the hill.
